Cheap File Cabinets

Interested in cheap file cabinets?  I don’t blame you, file cabinets can be extremely expensive, they are usually $300-$400 but if you get a large one, they can cost even $800 or more.  If you just have a small business or you’re trying to store some files within your home, you don’t need a big fancy cabinet with a counterweight, you just need to find some cheap file cabinets that will fit your budget and that you can stick under your desk.

To help you find those cheap file cabinets, I’ve gone out and found a few of the good ones for you so that you can read up on them and investigate into them a bit further.  So if you’re looking for one, do read on:

1.  Home Office Two Drawer File By Hirsh Industries

At $79.90, this is probably the cheapest one you can get without sacrificing too much quality.  This was found on Amazon and is rated 4/5 stars by 4 reviewers, all other cheap file cabinets are rated much worse despite costing less than this.

This one has 2 drawers that are 18” deep, this also comes with factory installed locks.  This is made for light duty use, the drawers pull out almost all the way except for the last 3 inches and they are made of steel.  There is no assembly required for this by the way.

One thing you might want to note about this particular model though is that the bottom drawer is not the best for high security storage.  For just regular daily reports, this may be fine, but you really need a stronger double lock to keep things secure.

If you’re using this within your home, you can even save some space by using the top of the table as a makeshift table for a scanner or printer as 1 reviewer has.

2.  INNOVEX KM02 Filing Cabinets

Here’s another relatively cheap one at $91.  This has had 13 customer ratings with a 4/5 star rating.  This has 2 smaller drawers on the top followed by a large folder holding drawer on the bottom.  The whole thing is on wheels too which is great as it allows you to move it in and out from under your desk or to move it nearer or farther from your workstation.

This is also a very attractive cabinet which comes in Maple, Medium Cherry and Granite Black, each one being made of wood for the drawers and top surface and metal for the rest of the frame.

This measures 17 x 24 x 27” and weighs 54 pounds, it’s easy to assemble, easy to use and is of good value.  This is great for a small office or computer room.

If you want some really cheap file cabinets, you can go down even lower to the $59.99 range, but the quality of the cabinet will not be there.  You can definitely look into that further though if that price point interests you.
